Theo - 3 Months

Theo is three months old! In the last week or so he has found his voice and uses it constantly - he doesn't really mind if you are talking to him, he must have a say! He will be chattering from across the room in hopes of getting some attention. Must be our Italian genes that creates these talkers! He has also started grabbing things and stuffing them immediately in his mouth, and oh boy does he drool. He is still out sleeping his three year old brother - thank god for this! He is a happy and easy going guy. EXCEPT, when you try to give him a bottle. Our little connoisseur has decided there is NO substitute for the real thing and is refusing to take a bottle - by refusing I mean screaming as soon as you put it in his mouth. This has me very anxious since I'm starting back to work next week. I hope he figures this out soon! He is absolutely fascinated by his big brother - he wiggles and smiles with excitement if Brock comes anywhere near him - it is so cute. Brock always says, 'He loves me, he's laugh'n at me'.

Ferrari Farms

We went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday - Brock was in heaven and as usual Theo was happy to be along for the ride.

Here and There

We are busy people! We had a great visit from Aunt Nikki a couple weeks ago. We laid low b/c Brock had a fever and some sort of flu bug while she was here. Am I a terrible Mom for actually kind of enjoying when Brock has a fever?! It is the perfect illness - calm, cuddly, and sweet kid for a couple days - with no boogers, vomit, etc. to deal with. Anyhow, it didn't last long - Brock is back to his spunky self again - I missed him! Then last week we headed to So. Cal for visit with my family - Great Grandma Daphne, Aunts and Uncle, and their pets. I don't have many pictures b/c we lost our camera. We had a great time enjoying the warm weather and swimming in the pool at my grandma's house. Brock loved the beach - it was about 20 degrees warmer than the water he is used to in Tahoe. Once again, the boys were awesome travelers! They got rave reviews from other people on the planes.

Brockisms

The Brock stories just keep getting better...

The other day Brock asked Pa (Grandpa Coulston), 'Pa were you a baby?' Pa, of course, answers that yes he used to be a baby. Then Brock asked, 'Pa, did you have a beard when you were a baby?'

The other morning I awoke to the sound of our kitchen chair being pushed across the kitchen floor. This, of course, means that Brock is up to something - so I jump out of bed! I came into the kitchen to find him with only his pajama shirt on - bare from the waist down. I asked him what he was doing and he announced, 'I went potty and I'm getting myself a potty treat'- duh mom, just go back to bed :) Do you think a potty treat could wait until 6am?

We just got back from a trip to visit Brock's great grandma Daphne. Brock was slightly obsessed with her adorable and sweet black lab, Buddy. He would say things like, 'Buddy, is the best dog I ever seen', 'I missed buddy from a long time ago', 'I love buddy so much' - hilarious. The day we were leaving he asked Grandma Daphne, 'Grandma, are you gonna miss me?'

Brock's FAVORITE books are by Richard Scarry. Last night when we were in the car coming home from the airport Brock said to his Dad, 'If we take a bath and then brush we will read Richard Scarry?'

I usually don't give time outs for not cleaning up, but today I was at my wits end and when Brock decided to play in one of our house plants and refused to help clean up I gave him my standard time out warning...'Brock, you need to help mommy clean up this mess or you will be going in time out' - his response, 'I'm gonna go in time out' I guess I need to work on my time out delivery - this was not the outcome I was hoping for:) Brock is the master manipulator - he is always bargaining for something! Sometimes I can't believe how quickly his little brain can work - way faster than mine!

Tahoe again...

My parents took Brock to see the salmon spawning at Taylor Creek. My mom said Brock held his arms in hug position and said "my Tahoe" with such love as he saw the lake. His love for Tahoe is now equal to ours! Brock had so much fun with his Mama and Pa all day. He can now describe the male and female salmon - must take after Pa who is a fisheries biologist (and fisherman!) and Papa J who is a serious fisherman. I thoroughly enjoyed my day alone with Theo. After being home with two kids for the last ten weeks I now think having just one is a breeze! Thanks to Mama and Pa for providing this much needed break!

Watching the salmon with Mama.

Throwing rocks with Pa. Why does this activity never get old? Must be a boy thing.

If there is water, Brock will be in it! Brrr...

2 Months Old!

Sniff, sniff...my baby is now 2 months old! Theo is so much fun now - interacting, smiling, and 'talking' with those sweet little baby sounds, he is even trying to giggle! He had another Dr. apt today - all good except the shots - his perfect little world was shattered when that nurse stuck him with needles. He has an incredible scream for such and easy going guy. Poor baby! Theo is now 14lbs 13oz and is 24.5inches (90-95 percentile) - must be some super breast milk! I find it hilarious that Cory and I created this giant baby. Even some of his 6 month clothes are a little snug. I just love the rolls! Brock continues to be a great big brother. He is constantly checking on Theo, kissing him and talking to him. Here are some random pictures from the last week or so.

Look...there is a neck in there!

Tailgating in the camper.

Lounging on the couch! Notice Brock in his big boy unders - he is doing great with potty training - we have even had a few dry nights!

Theo is going to have blue eyes - they keep getting lighter.

I just love that big goofy grin! It melts your heart!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Wow, I have been slacking on the blog - I must be busy or something! My days just seem to fly by. We had a fun visit from my Aunt Cathy a week or so ago. She came from southern California to spoil my boys in person. Brock loved every second playing with her - when she left he said, "I don't want Aunt Cathy to go" sooo cute. Here are some pics from our visit. Thank you Cathy for all your love and help!

The boys watching some UNR football! Theo's first game - he really liked it.

One last warm day in Tahoe!
