Baaaabaaaa

We helped our friends with lambs again. The boys were so excited to go camping! Brock wrote about our trip in his journal the morning we left. I love reading what he writes everyday! Brock is simply in heaven when we are outdoors and any adventure will do. The first morning we found a baby ground squirrel that was injured. Brock nursed him for hours, making him nests and giving him drops of water. Yes, that is a picture of an almost dead squirrel on my Ipad in my car - he needed to be warm okay! He eventually died but his final moments were that much sweeter. Either that or he was scared to death... Not sure which :). Lots of fun with friends!

More Theo

Why do we have bugs?
Why do we call it a broom?
Why is it called piggy back? (or insert any other word!)
What happens if lightning strikes the ice? Can ice catch on fire?
We love each udders!
He is very concerned about fire, he told me he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. I told him he was on fire the other day (because he was fiesty)...he looked all over his body and then said 'no I'm not'.

Theo

Theo is a funny little guy! This kid NEVER stops talking. And not only does he never stop talking, but he insists that you maintain eye contact with him at all times during every speech. And you must not humor him with simple responses, such as ‘uh huh’ or ‘okay’. Believe me; I get called out on this several times a day! It’s exhausting!

Here are some funny little Theo chats:
- If Theo says mom and I respond yes without looking right at him. He says, ‘Mom, look at me so I can tell you’. I’ve tried to explain to him that I can hear him, even if I’m not looking right at him.
- If I ever say, ‘uh huh’ to him, he says, ‘mom, don’t say uh-huh’. Then he explains to me what a more appropriate thoughtful response would be.
- Theo: mom, why are there two wheels on the front of my scooter and one in the backMe: I’m not sure, that is just the way it was madeTheo: Hmm, that’s interesting
- I was admiring a flower in Hawaii…
Me: Theo, look at the beautiful flower
Theo: Yes, but I don’t like girl things – I just like you
- He loves his stuffed animals – piggy, yedow (yellow) bear and skippy john jonesBrock came into our room in the middle of the night to tell me he couldn’t sleep because Theo had the light on. I came down to find the stool at the light switch, lights on, and Theo crying on the floor, ‘I can’t find yedow bear’! Luckily we found him and all went back to sleep.
- He always says, ‘I’m so happy that _____________’ we're at the cabin, we are camping, etc.
- Art told us he was going to the chiropractor then later Theo told us, ‘Artur went to the camp backter’
- See picture below. We were working on the camper and the boys were playig. I looked in and Theo said, 'Mom, this is my work and the boss is in there (as he points to the cooler)'. Then Brock pops out of the cooler. That is one way to keep the boss :)

The best part of our conversations are his facial expressions. Here is a sample below – self portraits.
