Male and Female Bonding

Last weekend I went to the beach minus a baby and husband! It was a bachelorette party for my best friend Katie and we had just a little bit of fun - in fact, I'm still recovering! As it turns out, not to many of the pictures are worthy of posting, but here a couple. What happens in Capitola stays in Capitola!

The boys (Cory and Brock) also did some bonding. Cory had the whole weekend planned out with play dates, driving tractors, and shopping for motorcycles...hmmm.

We all had fun, but I was sure glad to get back to my boys! This old lady can only handle so much partying.

High school best friends Katie and Darlene - I miss them so much!

The whole gang out on the town.

Lounging on the beach - when was the last time I did that?

Bless You

Yes, that’s right…if you sneeze anywhere near Brock, you will get the sweetest blessing in the cutest little voice, “Bless you”! He picked up on this about a month ago and rarely misses a sneeze. The other day in the grocery store, one of the employees sneezed and Brock promptly blessed her. Well, it made her day – she was shocked at first and then burst into laughter at the thought of this tiny person with such impeccable manners! What a sweet, sweet boy! Now if we could just be as consistent with please and thank you (we are getting close)!

A Weekend at Home...

The first in three weeks! We spent it catching up with friends in town. Friday and Saturday Brock and Conner hung out while the mommy's caught up. They are really cute together and are totally getting the hang of this sharing thing! Then Sat. evening our friends came over for dinner. Brock had fun trying to keep up with Ben who is three - they were pretty cute together! Then Sunday night we had another baby bash at our friends house - Brock was the only boy so he thought that was pretty cool. We are so lucky to have such fantastic friends!

This sharing thing isn't so bad!

Eating SUPER healthy homemade popsicles - tricks on them!

Taking a tour at the river school for Artown - the boys are looking at the baby Turkeys that will soon be dinner.

Nora - the cutest and mellowest (is that a word) baby I have ever seen. I'd have another one this second if they were all this perfect!

Future Rock Stars

Yesterday we went to a music class as part of Artown. Artown is a month long event in Reno that highlights arts and culture. There must have been 50 or so kids at the class and lots of parents. Brock and his buddy Conner were really tearing up the dance floor!

Another Beach Weekend

We headed to Capitola again this weekend. It was nice to escape the heat and smoke - we are getting a lot of smoke from fires in California right now. The beach was perfect as usual.

We had a great surf session at Cowell's in SC. Cory and I took turns surfing so Brock could play on the beach. Next time I want to get him in a wet suit and life vest and catch some waves with him. There were some small kids doing that with their parents and they were LOVING it!

Courtney, Arthur and Cory headed out.

We went to the pool everyday and Brock really made progress with his swimming. He will jump in, go under water, and do a little doggy paddle up to me. There was a private lesson going on at the pool - so I stole some free tips :)

We went on a double date with Arthur and his girlfriend, Courtney. This weekend was the first time we were able to hang out with Courtney and we sure love getting to know her. We went to a cool restaurant in downtown and then wondered the streets - we had a blast.

Fishing with Dad!

Giving Mama a big hug!

Trying on Arthur's shoes.

Last night Brock decided to put his apple sauce on his head - Mom was not amused, but Brock found this to be hilarious!

“Mama GG’s House”

We spent the last week in Grand Rapids Michigan for a reunion of sorts. We got to visit with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma, grandpa and great grandma (GG). We spent almost every day hanging out at “Mama GG’s House”, as Brock says, and just having a grand old time visiting, eating and capturing MANY pictures. It was a great vacation for us because Brock had lots to do. Besides chasing around his older cousins, the experienced Grandma’s (Cory’s Aunts) had houses stocked with toys for him. Really we got the ROYAL treatment – thank you! We sure wish we lived closer to you all!

The last two days we headed to Chicago for the wedding of Cory’s best buddy from high school and college. We had a blast seeing some old friends and dancing the night away to Arabic music. While we were in Chicago (which is the coolest city!) we taught Brock to say, “I’m in Chicago”, but he said it, “I’m in Cago”. He couldn’t say the “Chi” part. Every time we left the hotel room he would proudly announce, “I’m in Cago”!

Playing at GGs!

Cousin hugs!

Riding GGs bike!

I love Aunt Linda!

I love Aunt Nikki!

Brock and Bryce - he was so cute with Brock, hugging him and sharing all his toys!

Maddie and Brock

At the zoo with Nana. Brock loved the zoo. As you know he can communicate well with all the animals! His favorite was the monkeys.
