8 Months

It is hard to believe that Brock is 8 months old! He is growing fast and keeping us on our toes. Brock was cautious and steady during his first couple weeks of crawling, but now he has SPEED! We are learning the word "no" and I have been madly cleaning all of those hard to reach places that Brock can squeeze into. Cory and I had a million dollar idea...swiffer pads to put on your baby's hands, feet and knees. Brock is also starting to pull himself up on things, mostly on me and low furniture. He has a battle wound on his forehead from attempting this new trick. He is also exploring new foods. His favorite so far has been noodles with pesto and raw garlic...that is some good Italian blood. Grandpa Cosimo would be proud! Today we went swimming and he had a blast in the pool as usual. His friend Sianna is 14 months old and she showed him how to go down the water slide and gave him some tips on walking. There is so much to learn!
Babies don't get much cuter than this!
Fun with paper towels.
This is Brock's serious look.

Great Basin Adventure

We have a great little theme park right down the street from us in Rancho San Rafael. It has rides, animals, performers, and exhibits. Last night, a neighborhood crew went down for family night. The crew included Brock's twin friends and it was crazy to see them all ineracting. They had a little wrestling match and babbled to each other in baby language. This year they are all crawling around and in a couple years they will be running around the neighborhood causing trouble I'm sure. Cory and I went on the log ride, which wasn't half bad for a neighborhood park. Both Grandma's came too!

Babies everywhere!

Cory's Latest

Last Sunday Cory was looking at our old window upstairs and decided it would be nice to replace it with french doors and a deck to enjoy the city views. The next thing I knew there was a giant hole in the wall, then doors, and the beginning of a deck (in about 24 hours). The finishing touches are still happening! For those of you who know Cory well, this is standard behavior. And Brock is following in his footsteps, always moving and BUSY! He was the same when in my tummy so I shouldn't be surprised. Crawling has added a whole new element to our daily lives! Time to dust under the furniture!

Alaska

We just returned from a great trip to Alaksa. I don't think we could have squeezed in any more fun...we are exhausted. Brock got to meet his Aunt Nikki, Uncle Chad and Aunt Holly for the first time! Brock was also baptized at one of the most beautiful places on earth...The Jennings Family cabin on Crystal Lake. We had a great time catching up with family and friends and enjoying Alaska's beautiful scenery. We even saw two moose! As usual Brock is doing more new things. While we were in Alask Brock decided to crawl! He is still perfecting his skills, but he can now get where he wants, when he wants quickly. He also started clapping his hands...so cute. AND, most importantly, he now says Mama! We know he may not know exactly what he means by it, but when he says Mama and Dada we can't help but be a little joyful!

These horses live near Chad and Holly in Wasilla, Alaska.

I love my Aunt Nikki!

I love my Uncle Chad and Aunt Holly too!

Brock and Arianna (Nick and Melissa's spunky 1 year old)

Nana J and Grandpa (a.k.a Pastor Lance who did the baptism)

Cory's close friends from High School, Nick and Melissa, are Brock's God Parents!

We spent some time jet skiing and wakeboarding. Cory and I still have some of our pre-baby skills, but I'm sorry to say our bodies reminded us of our age the next day!

Nikki's dog Moby LOVES Brock. He spent the entire time following Brock around. I think the feelings were mutual, they are family after all!
