Hello?

Brock has a couple toy phones, plus he really likes the real one! Now, he knows what to do with it - he puts it to his ear and jabbers away. Here he is pretending to talk to Nana J. We call all of our friends and family to tell them we love them!
Hello, Nana J...I love you!

Just a cute grin I had to post. I gave Brock a whole banana to chew on for the first time and he was very pleased as you can see. Still no teeth - we are working on a record here!

More Fall Fun

Last weekend we went to the Fall Festival at Bartley Ranch. It was a huge event with tons of things to do. Brock will enjoy it more next year, but he still had fun seeing all the people and hanging out with his buddies. The highlight was listening to great live music. Brock would dance, clap and try to crawl on the stage!

Carving my first pumpkin!

Swimming with Dad!

Brock still loves swimming, especially with Dad. We go on Saturday mornings to swim and play at our community center pool. It is a lot of fun. Brock always takes a good nap after all that swimming!

Touch a Truck

This weekend we went to a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club called Touch a Truck. Since Brock's favorite words right now are car and truck it was perfect! Brock got to see and touch all kinds of trucks. They also had a tiny pumpkin patch that he played in with all the other kids. He just loves being around kids!

Brock in the loader bucket...he just loves dirt! Yum!

Standing

Well we haven't got a picture yet, but Brock is making his first attempts at standing on his own. He started a couple weeks ago! He will let go of whatever object he is leaning on and stand for a brief moment before he slowly squats and sits. He is now doing it more frequently - yikes! He is also breaking our backs becuase he wants to walk around while hanging onto our fingers. Oh, and still no teeth...this nursing mom is NOT complaining, but geez I hope he gets one someday!

Music, Swimming, Spaghetti and Fun!

Brock started music class this week! It is a great program called Music Together of the Sierras. It is held at a place called the river school, which is an urban ranch, right on the Truckee River. So in addition to music, we also get to see chickens and play on the beautiful land. Brock loves singing (he has this cute little whispery voice when he tries to sing), playing the intruments, clapping and dancing with the other kids. It is really neat!

We also started swimming again. This time our neighbors with twins joined us. Having the twins right down the street is great. We get together several times a week to play. The boys are all about the same age so they romp around the playground, house, yard, etc.

This year our tomatoes went crazy, so we have eaten them in every way possible. We have spaghetti with homeade tomato sauce a lot. Brock has learned to slurp his spaghetti like a good Italian.

More fun in the pictures below...

Playing peek a boo with Jeremy's hat! Katie and Jeremy came up for the Fresno game. They even wore their red and sat with the UNR fans...they won :(

This is Brock's funny face. He crinkles his nose and makes a snorting sound.

When we say Brock is in to everything...we mean EVERYTHING! Here he is putting his bath toys into the toilet. He has also mastered our staircase which is amazing.

Bubbles

Last night I taught Brock how to blow bubbles in the tub! It was sooo funny! First, I put my face in the water and blew bubbles. He was highly amused so I kept doing it. The next thing I knew he was trying himself. He bent over and put his face in the water. The first try didn't go so well...he sucked in some water and started to cry. I thought that was the end of it so I distracted him with bath toys. Then he wanted to try again. So this time I showed him how to blow bubbles while making a sound (blowing out). And he did it! Then he kept doing it! Hilarious! He listens to instructions, understands and says words and will try to do what we do... a little person.

It's hard to keep Brock still enough to change him these days. The changing table is now out of the question, as I usally have to pin Brock down to dress him. After baths he likes to play!

10 Months old and still toothless!

Granny Nanny

As you can see Brock has a blast during his time with Grandma! They have park time, play time, story time, music time, and nap time everyday they are together. My mom has also met two other Granny Nannies (yes, this is an official occupation and an extremely important one at that!) in the neighborhood and they get together with the kids. Here are some pictures from this week. We are so grateful for such EXCELLENT day care and to have my folks so close!
