His Royal Two-ness

Just a little update on His Royal Two-ness. Theo is every bit of two years old these days. He is reading the New York Times, and his less challenging baby books alike. He is counting 1-10, but not really counting :) And he reads a couple of his baby books by memorization while laughing hysterically between each page - he is quite amused by his 'reading' ability. He loves letters and numbers! The other day he wanted to read the news paper with mama and was studying it (sideways of course) for some time. He is as charming and hilarious as ever. Yesterday, Theo saw a man walking his dog down the street and he said, 'Look at that doggy mommy, he's walking his friend'. Just love it!

He is also very advanced in the 'terrible' two department - perhaps younger siblings are like this. Phrases we hear quite a bit, 'Mine', 'No', 'I don't want to'. You fight us on just about everything, my favorite (or more like most annoying), is when you play happily in the bath and then begin screaming when I actually wash you. You scream, 'don't get soap in my eye' over and over again even when I'm washing your toes. Ahhhh...the joys of parenthood.

Now that I told you how bright he is, here is the other side. Somehow he let Brock talk him into caking his head with mud in the back yard. Brock was quite proud and came running in to show me his accomplishment. Maybe I should have Brock wash his hair in the bath...hmmm, now there's an idea.

Balloon Races 2011

Another year of waking up with the Balloons! We love the Great Reno Balloon Races and since we live just a block from the races we get to share in the excitement for FOUR days - we are happy to get some sleep when they are done since events start at 5am! Brock was so into the balloons this year and woke up ON HIS OWN each morning at about 5:30 requesting to go to the glow show. Then Theo was a hoot this year. He had constant commentary on the balloons, "wow, wook at dat balloon mommy", "that one is falling over, mommy", "I wanna see star wurs' and on, and on. The BIG hit this year was the Darth Vader balloon accompanied by a few storm troopers. Um, can you imagine anything more awesome for two little Star Wars fans...no, not even possible. Brock got to go up in a balloon with his preschool class, also very cool. And we held our annual Balloon race party in the front yard - I think we set a new record this year with about 30 people! Fun times!

Brock's balloon ride and preschool class. He held his friend Penelope's hand almost the whole day - pretty cute.

If you look close you can see Brock's little hand waving out of the basket.

The Frog

Meet our new boat, the Frog! Why Frog? Becuase it is green and hops according to Brock - he named it! We took it out on Tahoe the first time. This spoiled boat has only ever been on Tahoe until we bought it. Then we took it camping at Stampede and had so much fun! We are hoping to squeeze in a couple more boat outings.

We must have towed Brock around for hours! He loved it!

Theo on the other hand dozed off for two hours and we made him a little bed on the floor.

Brockism

Just a little conversation that Brock and I had moments ago...

B: Mommy
Me: Yes, Brock
B: Am I gonna have to get married?
Me: Well...not unless you want to get married
B: Oh good....(long pause)...because I was thinking about not getting married at all.
Me: (thinking about explaining he might change his mind, find the right person to marry, etc., but decided that was to deep and just said)...Okay :)

Phew, I'm glad he won't be rushing to the alter anytime soon!!!

Where to begin....

This summer has been CRAZY! Here is my attempt at catching you up on the Jennings summer-o-fun!
A trip to the water park with Nana back in July!

Some shots from Theo's Birthday bbq. We made little hot tubs for the kids - little buckets of kid soup - they loved it! At the end of the night there was a huge lightening storm so we pulled a couch to the upstairs french doors and bundled the kids in for the show. They were chanting, 'wait for it, wait for it, ahhhhhh (at every strike)'

Many frogs, bugs, and even snakes have been captured and released without casualty this summer (at least not that I know of). Found this little cutie in our yard!

Lots of trips to lakes this summer. This one we met up with a couple of my highschool friends at Stampede. So fun to see them!

Cory and I went to a wedding in Minneapolis...by ourselves, no kids, - yes that is right...for three days we fed only ourselves, did whatever we wanted, watched an uninterrupted baseball game - we answered to no one, we are so crazy! Seriously, Minneapolis is an awesome city! We stayed right downtown in a fancy hotel and had such a good visit with friends. Oh and the wedding was fantastic too!

Brock and I will have to fight over who is Allison's best friend after her most recent visit. She is my friend...no my friend...I can see it now :) This caption goes to the last few pictures...why does my blog do this?! Anyone know the answer?
