Party!

This weekend we partied hard! But not quite like the good old days if you know what I mean! Now-a-days party hard means friends for dinner, baby showers, and bounce house birthday parties :) And we did all three this weekend!

Friday night we had our God daughter (who is now five) and her whole family over for dinner. Brock loved watching and chasing the big kids around. He especially loved playing Frisbee with Olivia and watching Joel ride his skateboard.

Saturday we had a "meet the baby" party for my friend Vanessa who just had her second little boy. It was total baby and toddler madness! Then today Brock's buddy, Ben, had his 3rd birthday party at a bounce house place. They had giant inflatable slides and houses. Brock loved the slide! He needed to be carried up, but once we were up there he would just launch himself down - it was hilarious - NO FEAR.

Oh, and another weekend highlight for Cory was the addition of a new bike. I guess his other bike was lonely in the garage and needed a friend.

Earthquakes!

Since Thursday there have been over 100 earthquakes, centered just a couple miles from our house. Several have measured over 4.0 with the largest measuring 4.9! We have had a couple restless nights! Last night, we awoke to the 4.9 shaker in a slight panic wondering if this one was going to stop - or get worse. Several of our pictures fell down, but no damage. It has become quite "normal" to feel shaking throughout the day, but we are all starting to get a little creeped out! Earthquakes are a good reminder that you are just a speck on this earth - she is in charge!

Speaking of earthquakes, we were just shocked with the news that we will be welcoming TWINS to the family. Cory's cousin Molly and hubby Jason are expecting not one, but TWO babies in October. Congrats you two...I mean FOUR!

Snakes, Bugs, and Other Backyard Monsters

Yesterday we went to this exhibit at Rancho San Rafael! Brock had fun, but he didn't seem to be impressed with the snakes - this must be genetic. The highlight of the outing was watching my mom's snake encounter. The picture explains it all - check out that forced grin and the look on Brock's face - hilarious! Anyone who knows my mom, knows this is a once in a life time shot - she HATES snakes! The things we do for our kids and grandkids!

I think it might be time for a hair cut - check out that crazy do!

Petting an African millipede.

These ants were bigger than us and having a battle.

Look out Britney! (Just amusing myself - hopefully most of you have no idea what this comment means)

No Pictures?

The other day, Cory pointed out to me that since Brock's birth we have taken over 2,000 pictures of him! He gives most the credit to me for this insane amount of pictures! Yes, I know it is ridiculous! So a sure indicator that I am wildly busy is that I have no pictures to post! I can barely find 5 minutes to make a post, let alone take pictures. I must be too busy chasing a toddler or something! Anyways, I managed to snap a few this week.

Aunt Connie came to visit last week. She served as the Granny Nanny assistant - Brock loved having her around. All week this week Brock would ask for, "Connie" when we would arrive at Grandma's before work.

Brock climbs onto our dinning room chairs using the rungs - it will only be a matter of time before I find him on the kitchen counter! He also figured out how to get on this rocker - he just pulls up his car and uses it as a stool.

We got a webcam for Nana J for her birthday and we just love being able to chat with her "in person"! Brock gets sooooo excited when we ask if he wants to talk to Nana. And Nana loves to see his tricks, like blowing kisses, making animal sounds, and telling stories. So fun!

"Copter"

Another busy weekend has passed us by. I spent Sat. helping my friend with her booth at the Women's Expo...an event that draws thousands! She and her husband do photography, so if you have any photography or design needs you should use Johnstone Studios (I added their link to my favorites on the right). They do absolutely AMAZING work!

Then Sun. we were off to Fallon for another race. This time it was not as enjoyable as usual - one word describes it, dusty! But, we still had fun and the highlight was checking out the Care Flight helicopter. Brock loves planes and helicopters, so to see one up close was really exciting. Luckily, none of the riders needed a ride in it.

The Toothless Talker

We had a rough week, Brock is teething - I still haven't seen a new one, but I can just tell. Poor guy, his sleeping was off and he just wasn't himself. He would put his hand in his mouth and cry. I would ask him if his mouth hurts and he says "yah". This teething thing is taking FOREVER! The last two days have been much better though.

On another note Brock is starting to put words together. Like, "it's a ball" and "up please" (although you have to remind him about the please part). He can almost always tell us what he wants and everyday he is learning new words and using them - Crazy! He is constantly catching strangers off guard because he is talking so much. I don't think they expect words to come out of such a small baby! Oh, and my favorite new word, "hug". He will stop in the middle of playing, walk over to me with his arms stretched out and ask for a hug - I just love my little guy!

Hey Dad, what is the score? Want a Cheerio to go with that beer?

Swimming with Dad!

Brock goes to story time at the Library twice a week with his buddies Rowdy and Sawyer.
