Cousins Campout

Cousins Campouts are one of my fondest childhood memories. My Mom's side of the family would get together once a year to camp during the summer. Even though all of us are uber-busy these days raising LOTS of kiddos we are trying to keep the tradition alive. Last weekend we 'camped' at my aunts house in Roseville. They have a 2 acre lot full of fun! We slept in the house but at least some of the kiddos slept in the tent with my cousin - what a saint she was for sleeping with the kids! It was hot and the pool was the main attraction. I'm not exagerating when I say the kids probably spent about 6 hours a day in the pool (swimming started around 9am).

The kids had a blast on the long flat driveway. Our poor kids never have a flat area to ride on since we live on a steep hill.

The truck loaded with 3 dirt bikes, 3 kid bikes, and a scooter!

Addison and Brock are the same age and you can tell they are related! Smart little cookies and always looking for fun - they played so well the whole weekend. The older girls Kate and Hana were amazing with the littler one's. They included them in everything - so sweet!

Ryleigh and Kadence - my cousins twins. They are so fun!

May the force be with you...

Brock recently watched the original Star Wars movies for the first time (It was my first time seeing them too - pretty good, but definately a boy thing). He LOVES them and it is not uncommon for him to speak Ewok on occasion. Today we were playing hide and seek. Like the good mom that I am, I hid somewhere easy and made a big deal out of him finding me...plus there just aren't many good hiding places once you are big :)

Me: Wow, Brock - how did you find me so fast.
Brock: Well, I could just see where you were in my mind...like Darth Vader.
Me: Oh, you have Jedi powers? (see I'm learning the story...aren't you proud of me!)
Brock: Yes (with the look like I should of known this already)

May the force be with you today! And may you stay away from the dark side!

Beach...again!

This time with our good friends the Langdons. While it was snowing here in Reno we were lounging at the sunny beach and SERIOUSLY contemplating a move....SERIOUSLY! But the need for a paycheck forced us back in the car to Reno after having a another awesome trip to Capitola. Someday...

My little water snakes! Theo is getting good at holding his breath and swimming a couple feet from mom to dad. The whole time you hold Theo he tries to wiggle out of your grip while yelling 'I do it'. He is quite determined to swim even though he would sink like a rock. Brock is diving for rings and swimming the short length of the pool.

Brock had fun playing in the waves and catching a couple tiny waves.
