Just imagine a whole day filled with Brockisms...
I find myself both amazed and entertained by Brock all day long and then at the end of the day it is hard to remember all the great things he said. I think I must hear "hey, mom.." and "Why?" a thousand times a day at least! Here are a few...
Brock loves these national geographic books on animals that we have. The other day Brock wanted me to read to him and he said, "Mom, will you read me a story...the one about cliff swallows". Then the other morning he scupted a beaver out of play dough (and, yes, it really looked like a beaver) and he said, 'this beaver slaps its tail on the ground to warn the other beavers of danger'
We were playing basketball the other day. He laid the hoop down and was rolling the ball through it...apparently this is more fun than basketball. I mentioned that it was kind of like bowling and he said, "no mom, its cholling". Then he came up with a whole lingo for cholling...'choll it mom', 'yeah choll' when you scored a point and so on.
The other day he wanted to know, 'when I get bigger will Theo still be little?'
Many of our parenting strategies have now been reversed on us... for example, "dad you can swing me and then read me a story, those are your choices" By the way the choices are always good, while the choices mommy gives are not as desirable.
Brock loves to pretend. You never know what type of animal will be pawing at your leg next. My favorite part about this is how he gives instructions to us on how to play along, "mommy, this kitty doesn't talk, this kitty loves to play with socks, this baby can't walk". The other day this baby was being a little naughty and I was telling the baby to stop doing something and this baby told me, "this baby doesn't understand words" - VERY TRICKY little baby!
Another favorite of mine is the use of the word awesome and cool - so hilarious. We will be about do something, like build a fort and he will say, "this is gonna be awesome mom".
These are some of Brock's lego creations. He is so good at legos!

8 Months
Theo turned 8 months this week! He is getting so big, so fast and we are just trying to enjoy every minute. I got to hold my friends 2 week old today and I just couldn't believe how small he was compared to my big boys. What is Theo up to?
- He is crawling, slowly but surely! The last couple weeks he has been getting around by sitting, then going to his tummy, then sitting...it looked exhausting! But now he is starting to crawl and he is so proud of himself.
- He says dada and baba and a few other cute sounds. Whenever he says dada we just pretend he is talking about his awesome Dad :) And of course, Baba is Brock - must be...right?
-He is an eating machine! This kid loves to grub...it takes a lot of work to maintain this rolly polly physique. I don't believe we have come across a food he doesn't like. Tonight he induldged in some squash and potatoes, the other night I swear he at half of a chick breast!
-He still loves to boogy and loves music.
-He waves to me when I leave for work in the morning...it is a whole arm wave..cute!
-He is tough! Brock wrestles around with him and even though I'm usually yelling for him to be gentle, Theo loves it. I'm sure our house has a few thousand wrestling matches in its future.
-He has the sweetest personality and is just a happy guy...I always say this.

Mini Vacation
On Friday night we got a room at the Peppermill - why? Just for fun! We knew it had the potential for disaster with a toddler and baby in tow, but it turned out perfect! We had a blast swimming, bouncing on the hotel bed, eating and playing arcade games. They had this family deal where you got a room for $100, then you got a $50 food credit, $50 arcade credit, a free movie, and 4 huge delicious waffle cones. The pools were outdoors, but they were heated to a very comfortable 90 degrees - we swam a lot!

Spring Break
We spent three awesome days at the Beach for a much needed spring break! The weather was perfect - a hot 80 degrees one day and about 75 the other two. We were the first to arrive at the beach and we stayed ALL day - Brock was begging to go to bed each night. Theo is a real trooper and proved to be as easy going as we have pegged him to be. We came home to a windy cool day in Reno - when are we moving?
Volleyball anyone?
If there is jump potential - Brock will jump!
Brock must have RAN several miles at the beach while squealing with excitement!
Does it get any better than this...a full day at the beach, covered in sand, an ice cream cone for the stroller ride home, eating every last drop of that cone, except the ones that landed on my chest...perfection!
Catching some zzzz's at the beach!
Who is that studly surfer? Brock actually rode a wave on a surf board a few yards (from Dad to Pa) during this trip...he was very proud.
Getting my toes wet with Pa.
Looking super adorable at the beach!
Brock is so funny interacting with new people. He usually just goes up to them and stares for a bit, then just forces them to play...it is a little akward to watch, but highly entertaining. He was watching these cute highschool girls play volleball and before long he had all three of them building sand castles, fetching water, and singing songs. I asked him what they were talking about and he said 'just some things'. Anyways, they were really sweet and played with Brock for close to an hour...I wanted to bring them home with me to babysit.

Everyday Fun
Never a dull moment around the Jennings house! Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks.
Rub-a-dub-dub two boys in the tub!
We took a family trip to Cabela's on a rainy day to pick up a B-day present for Pa. This store has it all figured out...animals, fish, shooting gallery, food, etc. The perfect environment to create future hunters. Brock LOVES going there and we are not hunters at all! I have to admit it is very entertaining even for me...
How do I look?
Like my cowboy hat?
Cory took Brock to see the Monster trucks this weekend. Brock is still talking about it! They stayed out until about 10:30pm and Brock was still fired up when he got home. Must have been this Monster size slurpie he had.
We had the gang over for dinner the other night. Here are all the kiddos looking so grown up!
Still working on crawling! He no longer sits in one place - he goes right to all fours - ready for action!
Playing with Mommy!

Race Day
It was a beautiful day in the desert on Sunday. Cory had a race and we all went to cheer him on. It worked becuase he came in first in his class! He has been doing really well! Check out the trophy he recieved at an awards ceremony in January. He also recieved a small sponsorship - $300 for wearing the name of a local shop and winnning a lot last season.
Stopping at the pits.
Brock played for hours in the dirt!
I love racing!
Brock HATES getting his picture taken as you can tell...
