Virginia City Grand Prix

Last weekend Cory raced, along with 600 other riders, in the Virginia City Grand Prix. With at least a couple thousand spectators, Virginia City, was crazy! The start was right on main street and they had to race 4 hours. Cory finished, but was exhausted! The boys and I were the cheer leaders and hung out in VC while Cory raced. Our friends Mike and Sarah came up to watch too. Fun day!

The front foot rest of the single BOB makes a perfect little seat for Brock, but Theo then enjoys kicking him. So I taught Brock to pin his legs down and it worked beautifully...ha! The double just wouldn't cut it in this crowd.

Easter at the Beach

We celebrated Easter at the beach this year. It was a quick trip, but we had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful weather. Easter was really fun this year with Brock and Theo. They both enjoyed hunting for eggs. Brock was hiding and finding eggs all weekend long! We walked down to Capitola Village (mainly because we were headed to the beach anyways) to do the egg hunt they organize on the beach. This is the first time we have done an organized egg hunt. As much as I try to embrace the kids stuff...I just can't get into crowding around a feild of eggs (not hidden) and have hundreds of kids and thier parents race to pick them up....sorry, but I can't! Brock was totally not impressed either, so I'm glad we are on the same page! It is hard to believe people come from all over, brave the crowds, and take up a whole morning to do that. You couldn't pay me! I loved when the parents were freaking out after the hunt when their kids were getting wet and sandy at the beach...imagine that! Hilarious. Sorry for my little rant about egg hunts :)

The favorite things to do at the beach this trip were playing in the river and tide pools. Stomping on the sand cliffs to get the sand to fall in the river was a big hit and a little scary :) Then Brock spent hours in the tide pools pretending it was his aquarium and taking great care that each creature had food and was happy - so cute! Theo just liked stomping through tiny pools of warm water - just his size.

Spring Time

Lots of fun spring activities have been happening around here! Due to the terrible, yucky, windy spring weather we have had to just pretend it is spring - I think we are doing a good job.
First the Ace's home opener! With lots of candy, 5 toddlers lasted until the post game fireworks at almost 11pm...awesome! They had to wake us up to drive them home though...ha :)

About a month ago we took an adult only trip to Napa with our friends. The lovely spring weather and about 5ft of snow meant we got stuck over the pass for an extra day, and it rained the entire day in Napa. But that didn't stop us from having an awesome time with friends. It was so relaxing and a much needed break from the kiddos.

Last weekend we pretended it was summer and went on a one night camping trip to Washoe Lake State Park. It was actually a really nice day, but the wind picked up at night and we had to leave in the morning. This was a great little campground. We did lots of biking and hiking on the sand dunes. Brocks favorite thing was playing hide and seek in the sage brush that surrounded our campsite. One thing we love about Reno is being able to venture just miles from our house for great camping.

Signs of Spring

Just a sweet story:

Brock and I were going through the park the other day and I pointed out some big gardens of daffodils. I said, 'Brock, look at the daffodils, they are so beautiful' and he replied, 'I just love the signs of spring'.

Enjoy the signs of spring on the this beautiful day!

The Beach

Cory got a last minute week off of work and so we headed to the beach! Cory, the boys, and my folks were there for almost a week and I was just there on the weekend...somebody has to work around here :) Just kidding, Cory works harder than anyone I know and so deserves a week off! I enjoyed my couple days in our quite house with no boys! The empty house was strange, but very enjoyable I must say. The weather at the beach was epic...70s and 80s....ahhhhhhh....bring it on! Theo and Brock spent hours running on the beach, yelling, digging, chasing birds and finding crabs.

Finding sand crabs was the highlight of the trip! Brock hunted for sand crabs for hours.
