Race Day

Yesterday we woke up to a few inches of snow and it was coming down hard. We debated not going to Cory's first enduro race of the season, but decided to go for it. It turns out that about 60 miles east of Reno in the middle of the desert it was a beautiful day! Muddy, but beautiful! This is the first race that Brock and I have been to - we were the trusty pit crew - although it is a little hard to fill gas when watching a baby. We all had a blast. Brock is pretty much happy where ever there are new things to be learned. Cold, snow, mud, he doesn't care - he loves it! The video is of the second start. The racers start in three groups a couple minutes apart (novice, amateur, and expert). They took off and headed straight for a giant mountain. While Cory raced we had fun hanging out with the family next to us. This was a fifty mile race and Cory came in SECOND in his class! Go Cory!

Look out!

The race scene! 10 miles of dirt roads and then you come to this village of racers.

Getting ready.

We hung out a lot in the back of the truck because the mud was so bad.

The pit - where racers come to gas up, change goggles and make repairs between laps.

Pre race meeting.

Finished! Just a little muddy!

Giant lake/mud pit that was part of the course.
