Summer of Carlee

Our summer had another theme, Carlee! Carlee is our niece and the boys cousin. She and her parents, Cory's brother Chad and our SIL Holly, moved from Alaska to Reno.  And they bought a house you can see from our kitchen window!  The kids all go to the same school and love playing almost everyday!  Carlee cries EVERY time we part ways as if she will never see the boys again, too funny and very sweet!  We all just laugh now because we know the tears are coming.  Fun times!

Fourth of July

We had some friends up to our cabin to celebrate the Fourth of July!  It was the perfect weekend of summer partying!  On the 4th the moms ran a 5k and then we all watched the Chester parade.  The rest of the weekend we did some serious lake  days, lounged by the creek, games, biking, fishing and more.  Good friend make the cabin even more special!

Cory and his friend John started the weekend with a big adventure.  They rode from our house in Reno to the cabin on dirt roads.  They made it no problem!

Funny boys, Brock and Asher

The whole crazy gang!!
Theo and Juliet.  I must have been having too much fun because that is it for the pictures!

South Lake Tahoe

Next stop on the summer agenda was Tahoe to visit with the Kosticks and the adorable Maddie.

Night swim in Tahoe!

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

This was a first for the boys this summer. We decided to do it right and get wristbands for a day of rides, but I wasn't sure how long we would last. Brock looked a little green on the first ride but he recovered and we rode rides for 9 hours! Mama and Connie came too and we had lots of fun, ride after ride, after ride.

Principal of the Day

Highlight of first grade: Brock Jennings, Principal!  After months of saving base bucks (rewards for being a good student) and passing by many Fridays where he could have spent his bucks, Brock became principal!  He set his goal a long time ago. He wanted to earn enough base bucks to be principal - he needed 80!  With just two weeks left of school he did it!  And here he is, cutest principal ever!  He got to spend the whole day helping our principal - going to classrooms, helping in the office and having a special lunch with him.  He wanted to wear a tie and was having dreams about his big day!  We are so proud of this awesome kiddo we have:) and boy does he look handsome on the very rare occasion that he is dressed up!

Lamb Marking

This has become one of our favorite annual events!  For the last 3 years we have helped our friends who raise lambs with marking.  This year we were in a different area, but another amazingly beautiful gem in the desert!  This year Brock really helped a lot.  He was in charge of marking each lamb with blue paint.  We camped in a tent (ouch) and saw lots of wild life: a rattle snake, a badger with a snake in his mouth (awesome), a huge bull snake, marmots, and a deer.  When we were done with marking we spent the day exploring the ranch and riding dirt bikes.  Theo took off with no training wheels!
Collecting arrowheads!
Giant snake!

Brock put some serious miles on his bike and we followed in the truck :)

Spring Break

The boys had two weeks off for spring break!  First stop San Diego to visit lots of family and the famous Maddie, my cousins baby.  The boys just loved her!  We played at my aunt Sue's beach house and spent a night at Crystal Cove with my aunts.  We were completely spoiled the whole time, thanks everyone. Then the second week my parents took the boys to their beach house in Capitola.  Cory and I stayed home and worked and remembered how EASY life is without kids:)  Thanks everyone for an amazing spring break!
